Mick Hands Out Threat to the Top Sides 29/10/04
 
Mick McCarthy has warned Wigan not to expect all things to go their way this season.
 
He said: "Are Wigan going to keep running away with it all season? I'm not so sure. They're not having a bad time at the moment though. The front two have been outstanding and Paul Jewell kept most of the team from last season.
 
Wigan missed out on a play-off place in the last match of last season.
 
Get Right Into Them 22/10/04
 
Mick McCarthy has assured SAFC fans that Sunderland will go to Rotherham and get right into them with no complacency. We'll see about that then shall we.........
 
Ben Clark Signs For Pools 21/10/04
 
Hartlepool Utd have completed the signing of Sunderland defender Ben Clark. Ben has signed a 3 year deal with the Pools after Sunderland signed two more defenders in Neil and Danny Collins
 
Just Another Game 15/10/04
 
Mick McCarthy insists there will be no feeling of ill will when Sunderland take on Millwall tomorrow. Millwall won all three times the teams met last season. Millwall won 1-0 at the SOL in the league, 2-1 at the New Den and 1-0 at Old Trafford in the FA Cup Semi. However, its a new season, and just another game.....C'mon SAFC
 
Danny Collins Signs 11/10/04
 
Sunderland confirmed the signing of Danny Collins earlier today. Mick has signed him from Chester City for a fee of £140,000k and the 24 year-old-defender has a contract which will run out in 2008.
 
Marcus Supports Stickman 8/10/04
 
Marcus Stewart is backing Micheal Bridges to be a wearside hero once again. Bridges appeared in the away match at Leeds but has been left out of recent games due to a slight niggle in which McCarthy doesn't want to risk.
 
Johnson Loan Extended 7/10/04
 
Mick McCarthy has extended Simon Johnson's initial loan spell for another month. His chances to play for SAFC in the last few matches had been limited after he was ineligible to play against Leeds and couldn't play for Sunderland in the Carling Cup.
 
Breen Appeal Dismissed 2/10/04
 
Sunderland appealed against the sending off of Gary Breen whiched happened in the 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United, however the appeal has been refused by the FA.
